Adoption Fee

Your adoption donation fee of $275 helps cover the dog’s spay or neuter, vaccines, microchipping, flea and tick prevention, and deworming costs.

Adoption Requirements

You must be at least 21 years of age. A home visit may be required, in person or virtually. You must be allowed to have dogs where you live, and be able to provide proof (landlord approval, copy of lease, HOA rules, etc.). You must live in Santa Barbara County. Please note, we do not adopt animals outside the state of California.

Bringing Your New Furry Friend Home

Remember that your new dog is likely to be anxious around new people, and it will need time to decompress and grow accustomed to its new surroundings.

Make certain your dog is completely secure, either with a leash and harness or in a fully fenced yard, especially while it is getting used to you. New pets have been known to make escape attempts as they are still unaccustomed to their new home.

Do not schedule gatherings or bring lots of people over, as this will further stress your new dog while it is learning to acclimate to its new home. Give it a few weeks to get used to the routine before introducing new people.
